On 31st January Mark Zuckerberg will appear before a US Senate Committee. This is yet more evidence of growing unrest about the unaccountable power of Big Tech and the societally damaging way in which parts of that power are exercised, particularly in respect of children.
The Canadian Centre for Child Potection, working with the Phoenix 11, a group of survivors of online child sexual abuse, have put together a set of questions which they hope the Senators will ask. They have also marshalled many other arguments which expose how Meta is putting money first and children’s welfare second.
